Spilling the beans on BeanCounter
I’m surprised to say that a lot of Auctioneer users have no idea on the use of the BeanCounter. Thus it is time to spill the beans on the use of the BeanCounter to help you boost your sales in the auction house.
The BeanCounter is your personal recorder of your Auction House activities. It shows how much you earned from a certain item, how many times the auction was successful and expired, who bought it, who you bought it from, etc. From these data you can determine whether or not you’re getting any profit from your auctions and learn what you’re doing wrong.
From the start of my gold gaining venture, I started buying Iridescent Pearl in the auction house for around 5 gold and reselling for an average of 15 gold. I thought it was such a brilliant idea for it is a requirement in powerlevelling enchanting. I pat myself in the back, telling myself I’d be rich in World of Warcraft soon enough. However, only in the latter part of my auction house career have I started to use the BeanCounter. Accidentally, and thankfully it happened, I dropped the Iridescent Pearl in the Beancounter. It stated that i have gained 165 gold for almost 2 months. Honestly, that sucks. So I decided to drop off the iridescent pearl business, and focus on selling else that would earn me more.
The most helpful for me in this BeanCounter data is you will see a pattern on how many stacks of a certain item buyers love to buyout. Especially when buying a huge number of a certain item, some hate buying it out one by one (even if they’re cheap) and would rather buy the stacked items instead (even when priced higher).
Start incorporating BeanCounter in your auction house ventures in order to know what makes your business flourish and what makes it sink. Finally, with BeanCounter’s help you can laugh at those posting huge stacks of 1 with most of them expiring, while your stacks got sold out.
