Postal: The Way Mail Should be Opened
Open mail. Click unsold item. Open mail. Click sold item. Open mail. Click non-AH mail with attachments. 150 more items not shown. /Kick mailbox. Time is money, friend. And certainly opening mail the old fashioned way is eating up my time. Patience is a virtue, friend. With mail, I really don’t think so.
Postal addon is a huge help with opening mail. Think of it as several people doing the opening and clicking part and you’re just sitting back and relaxing. Here is a part of the description of postal that’s most useful of all:
- OpenAll: Allows you to open all mails of selected types at one go in your inbox
- All AH Cancelled mail
- All AH Expired mail
- All AH Outbidded mail
- All AH Success mail
- All AH Won mail
- Non-AH mail with attachments
- Shift-Click on the OpenAll button will open all mail and override your filter settings.
- Choose to have a number of bag slots always left free when opening mail (You may need to slow down your opening speed option or leave more empty bag space due to server/client latency.)
Once your addon is installed, go to your mail and you will be able to see additional cool buttons to configure how to open your mail.
Check what kind of mail you want to open, then press the really cool “Open All” button.
On the upper right hand of the mailbox, there will be this tiny arrow which you can click and further configure postal. One of which is adjusting how fast postal is going to open your auctions. In other words, how far are you willing to push your mail-opening slave. Well, I always go for the highest speed.
Right click mail box. Open All. Now, that’s how opening mail should be done.
I have to agree, postal is one of the best time saver addons you can get if your dealing with large volumes of in game mail. Especially non stacking items or if your spitting stacks.
A quick way to get buy the 150 items not shown available in 60secs timer is to macro /reloadui onto your bar and whack it as soon as postal has empty your mailbox, when the ui reloads, it bypasses the 60 second timer.
Reloading the ui, saves all your addon settings and can reset session based cash counters, but it can save you lots of time if your opening a LOT of mail.

I use 2 different addons that don’t play well with Postal. Auction Profit keeps track of who buys what (also tells me how many total bags/belt buckles/etc. I have sold) and Analyst keeps track of where gold goes and comes from (auctions bought, trainer costs, etc). I have both of these because at a certain point you start dealing with so many items that its easy to lose track of things and lose money on some of them. Postal opens letters from the back of the pile, starting with #50 and ending with #1. It takes the attachments without opening the letter, and the other addons cant track that it came from an auction, it just lists it as “mail”. That said, its a great addon for opening 400+ expired glyph auctions >.<

@Razorstorm – Ahh.. I see what you mean. I use accountant and it also lists auctions sold as mail. Do you use any other mail addon?
