Perfect Bloodstone cuts
I just tried cutting cheap Bloodstone gems and successfully sold them overnight. I cannot believe some people still buy these cheap gems. I’m not complaining though, as this is a good supplementary income. Thanks, cheap bastards

I get my bloodstone gems primarily from prospecting Saronite Ore. However, it is still possible to profit from this if you find cheap deals in the Auction House. Bloodstones usually go for 2 gold, according to Wowhead’s price.

Those cheap gems listed there sell for around 5 gold each. But as a jewelcrafter, there is a chance of getting a perfect cut. For example, when cutting Bold Bloodstone, it is possible to make a Perfect Bold Bloodstone, which sells for around 20 gold, which will give you an automatic 18 gold profit. If you didn’t get a perfect cut, you’ll still get 3 gold profit which is not too bad.
From experience, the best sellers are Bold Bloodstone, Runed Bloodstone, Delicate Bloodstone, and especially their perfect counterparts.
I am a cheap bastard — at least when it comes to leveling alts.
There is gear with sockets that people will want to equip on a alt that they are leveling. For example there are item level 100 blues from quests in Outlands that need gems. Does it make sense to socket these items with the new epic gems? Not to me when I do the stat/gold calculation, and consider the time I’ll be using the item.
On my server, there are not many people making these gems. Sounds like an opportunity to make gold.

we have very different views on when to gem items. If i have blue items from quests, I don’t gem them at all. I wait for an epic before I gem it. It’s not that hard to get epic gear nowadays.
And yes, it’s a good gold opportunity
gemming the outland blue stuff is awesome. Several pieces of gear have 2 or 3 gem slots, et putting some WotLK green gems is a great stat increaser for your level 58-68 alt. I levelled my retpal with full stam/strength gems, and it was a nice help. Plus I have a jewelcrafter with tons of green gems rotting in my bank
