Well, this is an interesting way of getting extra gold. That is, if you’re a rogue! Anyone know how much gold Patchwerk 25 drops? It’s not that much gold compared to using the Auction House but this certainly is a lot more exciting! You can even do it with the weekly raid quest Patchwerk Must Die. Open up the video in youtube if you want an explanation of how he did it. He lists everything he did in the description of the video.

PostHeaderIcon The Long Wait to Cataclysm… or Starcraft 2?

5/18/10

Recently, a lot of players have lost their drive in playing WoW. Don’t get me wrong; Wotlk wasn’t a bore. To the contrary, it was a great, suspense-filled ride as we awaited for the Ice Crown Citadel to open up. WOTLK actually got a lot of my casual friends and family back in the game, further improving the fun factor in MMORPG because of the presence of a familiar social circle. Nevertheless, quoting Ghost Terenas, “No King Rules Forever”. Even WOTLK has its end.

After seeing all the content and killing Arthas several times already, a lot has lost their drive to stay in the World of Warcraft. The feeling of “been there, done that” eventually becomes overwhelming. We try to do different things: play the auction house, concentrate on pvp, make another alt, make a new toon on another serve, etc., but the thrill of waking up everyday to explore the WOTLK content has already faded away. When a new patch comes up, we get back to our feet, play for a couple of weeks, but this “WoW high” is only a quick, temporary fix.

It’s a long wait to Cataclysm. Some are forming an army of alts, some are saving up their gold for Arcaheology expenses, and some already cancelled their WoW subscription. Simply put, people are bored and are just waiting for Cataclysm.  All we know is Starcraft 2 is coming out first on July 27. Maybe Cataclysm is coming out by the end of 2010? No one really knows. Blizzard loves to build up the suspense.

Will there be another “Sunwell” content in WOTLK? Or will the release of Starcraft 2 enough to save Blizzard from losing a lot of money from bored, unsubscribing, WoW players? All I know is, a lot of them are thinking of leaving wow behind to play Starcraft 2. If it’s only for a while or for good, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Will the quote “No king rules forever” also apply to the World of Warcraft, as the king of MMORPG?

PostHeaderIcon 6 Things to do With Your Gold Before Cataclysm

5/15/10

If you’ve already mastered the art of obtaining massive amounts of gold in the World of Warcraft, you may have come to a point when you’re thinking “What the hell am I going to do with all these gold?” If only there is a Las Vegas Strip somewhere in Azeroth, that would be a good way to shell out your money betting on dwarf boxing, Arthas Slot Machines and Blood Elf lap dancing (woot). Unfortunately, gambling is still illegal in the World of Warcraft and those who try and build a casino empire using the trade channel to promote their business get hit by the Ban Hammer. So here are 5 things to do with your gold:

1) Buy BOEs: It’s really tiring to farm emblems to buy gear for your alts. Instead, search for high ilvl BOEs in Wowhead and scan the auction house for good deals. Now, you don’t have to farm as much emblems anymore, and you’ll be quickly geared to test out your toon on the Lich King’s ass.

2) Join GDKPS: How much does a gear cost in GDKPS? Depends on the item of course but how will others compete with a high roller like you? 3000 gold bid for an ICC drop? No problem; you have  a hundred thousand more and you can earn that back within the day.

3) Get Achievements: Buy the expensive mounts, buy all pets, get a spot in a 25 man Ulduar for Glory of the Ulduar Raider, pay a druid to run you in Setthek Halls for the Raven Lord mount, etc.

4) Powerlevel Professions: If you don’t have all the professions yet and you have alts that are just waiting to have one, GET THEM ALL NOW. The prices of the materials might spike up when Cataclysm comes out. Better take advantage of cheap prices as of the moment.

5) Powerlevel your alts: Tired of leveling for the nth time? Just find a friend or someone from your guild to run your alts through dungeons in trade for gold. I don’t know how much a run costs, but even if it costs me 10,000 gold to get my toon from 1-70, I’d say it’s worth it compared to questing by myself.

6) SAVE UP FOR CATACLYSM: Archaeology is the new profession in Cataclysm. You might want to save up gold to level this up as items will cost a fortune. But if you’re one of the first people to max level Archaeology, you can earn big profit in a the long run too.

PostHeaderIcon Rhino Meat and Chilled Meat Farming

A very underestimated market is food. Fishing used to have its golden days which was before they made Wintergrasp fish-able. You can’t deny it, Blizzard made fishing too easy when they made all of the materials needed for a fish feast fish-able in Wintergrasp. However, one thing that is still hard to farm are animal meats. This post will be focusing on the rhino meat and the chilled meat.
These meats are used by cooking daily quests and those leveling their cooking profession. Just because of the cooking daily quests, you have a nice market to sell your meats to. Prices of these meat depends greatly upon a server’s economy, and which cooking daily quest is available for that day. For instance, if the quest for the day is Mustard Dogs!, expect it to be in demand and will cost a lot more than chilled meat.

Rhino/Chilled Meat

X marks the spot

In my opinion, the best place to farm these meats are from the rhinos in Borean Tundra. Rarely does anyone go there anymore. Who would want to reminisce in Borean Tundra, right? The best part is these rhinos drop both Rhino Meat and Chilled meat, hitting two birds with one stone. If you’re a skinner, your profit increases even more as you can skin the dead rhinos and sell the leather or use it for something else. That’s already hitting 3 birds with one stone. If you can pull multiple packs, the better. Just don’t die or your gold goes to your repairs.

A stack of rhino meat goes for around 35 g a stack and a stack of chilled meat goes for 20g (server dependent). I tried cooking the rhino meat into rhino dogs but no one even bothered to buy them. Just sell the raw meat.

PostHeaderIcon WoWstability Safe to Browse Again!

As you all know my site was attacked 2 days ago by a Zattapetta. I’ve already cleaned up the malware using a .php code which became available once the attack became widespread around the internet. I still contacted my host and asked to scan the site just to double check if there are any malicious code left. Gladly, there are none left and wowstability.com is safe to browse once again. Cheers!

PostHeaderIcon Crafting Glyphs Using Kevmar’s KTQ

Below is a video showing an alternative way for crafting glyphs besides using Quick Auctions . I believe it is a much faster way just because as in Quick Auctions, you won’t have to click the name of the glyphs to determine how many you want to craft for the day. Repeating that task everyday becomes a chore which eventually pushes you hate the profession. You wouldn’t want to hate a cash cow profession!

With KTQ, you will be able to set the maximum number of glyphs you’d want to create – say, 5. So every time you want to refill your glyphs, KTQ will check how many you have left (altoholic is useful here to check your bank toon) and will put into queue how many it will craft. Also, one of the most fun things in this addon is the ability to purchase all the reagents for your glyphs with 1 click. That alone is a huge time saver. However, just like Quick Auctions, you have to click every time you want a certain glyph crafted; there is NO ADDON that allows you to craft everything in the queue with one click.

For a more detailed information how to use KTQ, watch the video below by ah-whoring.com

You can download all the addons needed from this link

With posting the huge amount of glyphs, I still prefer using Quick Auctions.
