While Armor Plated Combat Shotgun and Nesingwary 4000 has been in the arsenal of Engineers for gold making, people don’t bother buying these ilvl 200 epics because they can be easily replaced even by having a kick ass run in Naxx / Ulduar. This leaves engineers penniless (but with a parachute).
But as patch 3.3 hit, two new obtainable recipes become available, giving those who picked Engineering as their profession a new incentive besides having cool gadgets. Plans: Shattered Rounds and Plans: Iceblade Arrow require an Honored reputation in Ashen Verdict but the former is for goblin engineers and the latter gnomish engineers.Yes, epic bullets for pew pew.
The recipes for these are sold by Alchemist Finklestein inside the Ice Crown Citadel raid at the cost of 1 Primordial Saronite, which appears to be the next generation of crusader orb. As an alternative, it can be purchased by 23 Emblems of Frost in Dalaran by Arcanist Uovril (Alliance) and Magister Arlan (Horde).
Iceblade Arrow only requies 2 crystallized shadow to make, which is very cheap and abundant thanks to miners. On the other hand, Shattered Rounds requrire 2 crystallized earth to make, which will cost a lot more. With these minimal raw materials, you will be able to make 1000 arrows/bullets. Just hope fellow engineers won’t flood the Auction House with cheap arrows and bullets.
