Crafting and Selling Glyphs Fast Using Quick Auctions
Selling glyphs is the cash cow of scribes. Glyphs are really cheap to produce and can sell for so much. Despite the belief that dual spec destroys the glyph market, you’d be amazed how much people are buying glyphs every now and then. The biggest problem is the amount of time it takes to 1)Find which glyphs are worth crafting and selling 2) Crafting the glyphs 3)Posting the enormous amount of glyphs. My tried and tested method will help you cut down this time in half.
If you’ve read the mmo-champ post about selling glyphs, maybe you don’t need to read this anymore. Or maybe you do? Yes you do!
Posting Automatically
You need – Quick Auctions 2
Once installed. Type /qa config to start setting up our glyph posting factory. Setting up will take quite some time. But as soon as you’re done, you won’t have any troubles posting your glyphs anymore.
Well I didn't say Quick Auctions is only used for glyphs...
Use the General Tab if you want to settings to affect everything in your Item Group. Your item group can always override the general settings if you configure it to do so.
Click Item Group and add a name to your glyph settings. Don’t get too obsessed with an item group name. “Boner” would do quite well as “glyphs”. Really, whatever makes you sleep at night.
Once you’ve named your glyph item group, it’s time to configure the settings. These are the settings I use. Feel free to tinker it for yourself. Just remember to put a value in Fallback price. This is the value it will post if no other auctions of a certain item is posted. I’ve had experienced posting using Quick Auctions 2 with no buyout because I forgot to set a fallback price. If you have an AH camper in your glyph market, I suggest reading Dealing with Undercutting in WoW and increasing your undercut price.
Once satisfied with your settings, click the Add Items tab. Your glyphs must be in your bags before you can add them. Just click on the glyphs and it will be added in your glyph item group. It is possible to remove items from the list by clicking on the Remove Items tab and clicking on the items.
Once you’re done, it’s time to try and post your items automatically! Talk to your auctioneer guy/girl and click on the Auctions tab underneath. You will notice additional buttons on the top part of the window:
Click on the Post button and see the magic work. The Log button will tell you what Quick Auctions is doing and if it’s done posting your items. Go ahead and test it out and see if it successfully posted your items. If your glyphs don’t have a buyout, most probably you’ve forgotten to put the fallback price.
Scanning glyphs to sell
I suggest doing this with your character who has the inscription profession so you can easily make a list of glyphs to craft.
Talk to the auction house guy> auctions tab> summary tab (on the top).
Click on glyphs > Get Data. This scans all of the glyphs listed in the auction house and their current price so you know which ones sell for a lot for the day. I suggest doing this after you post all your stocked glyphs to indicate which glyphs you haven’t crafted yet. If this is done before posting your stocked glyphs, it will indicate that you have no stock of the glyph(s) even if it’s in your bag or in your mailbox.
This is a sample of the data gathered on glyphs. The numbers in the middle indicate how many of that certain glyph are posted in the auction house at the moment. If there is a green number beside that, it means you still have a stock and it’s posted in the auction house at the lowest price. If there is a red number beside that, it means your auction has been undercut.
Notice Glyph of Death grip has a 1x in the left side. Clicking on the name of the glyph will automatically list it in your crafting list. Keep clicking on the glyph until you have your desired # of glyph to craft. In the example above, I want to create 1xGlyph of Death Grip.
Go to your inscription page and you will see a QA icon on the top right corner. Click on it and it will show an additional window:
On the right side is my craft list and the requires needed to craft the glyphs I want. Go to Jessica Sellers in Dalaran and get your inks and your parchments from the lady beside her. Once you get all your materials, you can just click on the name of the glyph on the list and it will craft it for you.
Canceling Undercut Auctions
Quick Auctions 2 will automatically cancel all auctions in your item groups that have been undercut. On the same window you find Post and Summary button is the Cancel button. Press it and it will automatically cancel your items. If the competitor’s price is below your threshold, it won’t cancel the auction.
I suggest not being obsessed about canceling your auctions every now and then to kill your undercutters. Don’t kill your social life just because you have to cancel and re-post items every now and then. If you want to destroy AH campers, go deep undercutting (read more onDealing with Undercutting in WoW). But if you want to sell at a high price, I suggest at the most re-post auctions twice a day. More than that you’re probably killing yourself. Eventually, their glyphs will be bought and yours will be the next to sell. Relax!
There you go. Welcome to the glyph factory. Now that the glyph crafting problem is solved, you’re next biggest problem is going to be undercutters. Read more on Dealing with Undercutting in WoW.

Postal + Auctioneer + QA2 are the best addons to play AH with.
Also, damn you, lend me your inscription!
@Kite haha yes they are
Inscription btw is easy to power level and is the least expensive if you want to have one. I should make a post about that soon.
i just hit 375 inscription on a dk bank alt. i used the gold from selling my leveling glyphs to finance further inscription leveling. i started off with 30 gold and now have 300 gold. inscription pays for itself as you level it if you are patient enough. power leveling inscription can be quite costly unless you have a herber.
@slashmourn – Good job! I also sold glyphs while I leveled it to make it less expensive
Yes, Im reading everywhere that inscription its one of the least expansive to lvl up. Im planning to make my priest an alchemist(low lvl for now)\scriber, so Id miss only LW and I got em all.
@kite – wow! having all the professions will make you a gold making corporation!
Hello,
I’ve leveled up inscription, downloaded QA and working the market atm. But i have one thing i bump into. What is a good effective way to restock the glyphs on your glyph mule? Can you make a list of the glyphs you need and someone copy it to your scriber to let him make them?
thanks.
Hi littleburst, you can do it using QA. Talk to the auctioneer guy and under the auctions tab, you will see a summary button on the top part of the window. Clicking that will open another window which will give you options on which category to get data on. In this case, select glyph then get data. You will be able to see a list of glyphs and their current prices. Clicking on the name of the glyph will make a number appear before it, which means it will be listen in your “to craft” list. When you’re done choosing which glyphs you want, you can log on to your scribe (with QA on of course), open up your inscription then you will see a ‘QA’ button at the top right. Open it and it will tell you your “to-craft” list. Get all the materials needed and just click on the name of the glyph to craft it. Cheers!
Thanks for the reply Sassafrasa,
There’s a small problem though, i multibox
So the mule is on a different account then the scribe. Is there a way to get around this by copying a file? I allready tried the quickactions files or savedvariables, but i can’t get fixed. Last option would be making a new mule on the scribe’s account.
oh. sorry about that littleburst. I haven’t tried that one yet and I have no idea how to. Maybe ask the author of QA if it’s possible?
ok, will try that.
thanks still
