WoWstability Safe to Browse Again!
As you all know my site was attacked 2 days ago by a Zattapetta. I’ve already cleaned up the malware using a .php code which became available once the attack became widespread around the internet. I still contacted my host and asked to scan the site just to double check if there are any malicious code left. Gladly, there are none left and wowstability.com is safe to browse once again. Cheers!
Support Staff Response Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for contacting the Hosting Security Team.
We have checked and confirmed that your hosting account wowstability.com is not currently infected with any javascript malware injections. Please note, that having removed the infected code is not a permanent solution because it does not remove the vulnerability that allowed the malicious code to be inserted.
To address the specific vulnerability, please ensure that you fully upgrade all installations of web based software such as WordPress or Joomla to the most recent version.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Please contact us if you have any further issues.

WordPress Hacked!
5/7/10
I’m sorry for those who visited my site during the past 12 hours. Apparently , wordpress was attacked by Zattapetta. A lot of websites using wordpress and being in a shared host were affected. What it does is it redirects you to another webpage and tries to install a trojan on your computer. (Read more on Zattapetta here http://www.wpsecuritylock.com/exploit-on-wordpress-returns-go-daddy-responds/ http://www.wpsecuritylock.com/breaking-news-wordpress-hacked-with-zettapetta-on-dreamhost/). Good thing I have Avast! Antivirus so the Trojan got blocked right away. I hope all of you have antivirus softwares installed in your computer as well. If you don’t have one, I suggest getting Avast! forfFree.
I already used a .php script to remove the stuff Sattapetta put in my .php files. (read more on the fix here http://blog.sucuri.net/2010/05/simple-cleanup-solution-for-latest.html )I’m still contacting my host to check if there are any problems left. For now, trying to add a new post is really hard: I can’t see what I’m typing unless I highlight the text and I can’t add links, pictures, change font size, etc. Hopefully my host will check out the site and update me within the day.
With a day off at work, I’m supposed to be updating content in this blog. But then again, wordpress got hacked instead. I promise to update soon. Sorry to all!
WoW Account Closure for No Reason
Never has WoW/Blizzard disappointed me until today. My account got an email saying my account was closed due to abuse of the economy. Abuse of the economy? Do they mean reaching the gold cap 8 times in a span of 1 year is BAD?
The ban wasn’t even a 72 hour ban, it’s an “ACCOUNT CLOSURE”. In other words, it’s a permanent ban. Over a span of 1 year, I’ve spent a lot of gold on epic fliers, mechano-hogs, a lot of buying and selling, GDKPS, and some gold even just given away to friends. Wow, that’s the doings of an evil person, right?
Four of my friends also got an “ACCOUNT CLOSURE” email for no apparent reason. 3 of them are also awesome in the AH business and is harvesting a lot of gold. The other friend just liked doing daily heroics and daily quests. This sounds like someone in the Blizzard GM department had a bad day and decided to unleash his/her frustration on innocent players. What is going on?
I decided to google a bit on the situation and came across this thread on the world of warcraft forum and also reported the same situation. Mind you, this thread was only started on March 26, 2010. What’s with the last week of March?
I had a similar problem. I have 2 wow accounts and my other account got banned (which I bearly play) for no reason. In the email it said I got banned for gold selling and messing with the servers auction house prices. It was quite bizzare considering my account was not hacked and I only used the account to do heroics to get frost badges to get blue gems for my main to make gear.
So I say this…
“You play wow? You want good wow gear? You want gold? Well please go and http://www.farmityourowndamnself.youscrubs”
About 2 hours later i’m disconnected from the game. Looks like a normal disconnect. I go to log back in and it says this account has been permanently banned. I go open my e-mail, and there’s a big load of fail.
On with the subject. Blizzards anti-gold buying and selling gong show is really stupid at the moment. My friends and I make a decent amount of gold probably over 100k a month. I’ve had a couple of friends get auto-banned for transfering THEIR OWN GOLD TO THEIR OTHER ACCOUNTS because it was like over 100-200k gold. It is so !#%@ing stupid.
Isn’t blizzard getting a bit of a paranoid freak about gold? And according to the forum posts, some people say WoW’s TOS says they can ban anyone with no apparent reason? Wow, that’s annoying. I don’t think they would be stopping these “bans for no reason” until there is a sudden decline in their subscriptions.
I am currently contesting my ban. Let’s see what happens. If I can’t get my account back and if my other blog contributors can’t get their accounts back, this gold blog is as good as dead.

With his poetic and comic style combined, morningstar got the votes of the judges (an advertising copywriter and a literature major) and wins the 60 day WoW Time Card. To the question “If Arthas took the job of Santa Claus, what kind of Christmas would it be?” morningstar answered:
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse, The pug was camped by the chimney with care, in hopes that Arthas Claus would soon spawn there. He was dressed all in plate, from his head to his foot, and frostmourne was glinting even though covered in soot, a bundle of epics he had flung on his back, the tank shouted “let’s get the noob”, and we began the attack.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, and ganked on our healer, who shouted “F@%% get agro You jerk”, quickly wiping our group because our tank was new, “L2P noobs” he shouted then up the chimney he flew. – morningstar
An email has been sent to you, morningstar. You have until Dec. 4 6:24 am PST) to reply. Congratulations ![]()

Video Card Broken
I’m not going to make a new update for about a day or two until I fix this problem. Suddenly my wow’s graphics broke and my computer hanged. When I restarted, a lot of $$$$$$$$$ signs were all over the place. I couldn’t get in windows because the windows symbol kept blinking and then a black screen would come after. One time I was able to get in windows and I uninstalled the graphics drivers. Still, the $$$$$$$$$$$$ sign were all over the place. After several times of trying to get into Windows, finally I was able to get in again and tried to install and update graphics driver. The installation couldn’t complete because a black screen would pop up and have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ sign all over the place.
I decided to try my very very very old 6200 video card and see what happens. The $$$$$$$$$$ sign was all gone so my guess is the video card is dead after just 1 year!!!!!!!!!! For the first 3 months of my 9800 GT it experienced fan failure which I returned and the company fixed it. But now, I think it’s finally really dead. Now, I’m using my old 6200 and I can’t bear with it. I might buy a new video card AGAIN. So wish me luck.
