PostHeaderIcon Vendoring Jewelcrafting Greens

Crafting level 70 green gems and disenchanting them WAS the cash cow of Jewelcrafters and Enchanters. However, when patch 3.3 came, enchanting materials came like a plague. The AH became so full of enchanting materials it got a lot harder to profit from the crafting and disenchanting method. Besides, all players doing their random dungeons are also packed with their looted enchanting materials. What do the Jewelcrafters do now for extra profit? Vendoring the crafted greens!

While it’s not as profitable as it was before, this method still gives extra cash. This takes advantage of the cheapened gems and eternal earth (partly due to lack of profit from the crafting d/e method).

The tooltip on the picture on the left shows that vendoring this item gives you 3.14 gold, while disenchanting gives you an estimated 3.44g worth of enchanting materials. Instead of disenchanting it and troubling yourself into the terrible world of AH flooding and undercutting, might as well just vendor it for a quick buck!

I’ve also created an excel sheet to easily determine if you’re going to profit from buying the materials, crafting them and then selling it to the vendor. The worst part from using this method is the amount of time to craft all the greens. This will take some time to craft but you can always /afk while you craft the greens.

This spreadsheet calculates how much you can earn from prospecting saronite ore by selling gems and enchanting materials. This also assumes you craft the following items for disenchanting:

1. Bloodstone Band
2. Crystal Chalcedony Amulet
3. Crystal Citrine Necklace
4. Sun Rock Ring

Additional notes can be found within the excel sheet itself.

Prospecting titanium ore is one of the ways to get raw epic gems. But sadly,  a stack sells for up to 300 gold. If you’re wondering if this is worth buying and prospecting, then this excel file will help.

Without a spreadsheet to justify your titanium ore shopping spree, and only a 4-5% chance of getting an epic gem, it’s hard to gamble your hard earned gold. There will times that luck is on your side, giving you a good number of epic gems. Other times, the ore will just spew you dust and that shadow crystal with an evil teasing grin. Will you be able to profit with a bad-ass chance of just getting dusts and green gems? Find out now.

A great tip would be to use the price of epic gem cuts instead of the raw gems in the excel file. Cutting epic gems easily adds 50+ gold to its value. Also, cut the rare gems and put its value in place of the raw rare gems.

Miners also will be able to make use of this. This will determine if it’s better to sell your ore raw or have a friend prospect it instead.

Some people really swear on the gold making capabilities of disenchanting shadowmight ring. Therefore, I decided to put everything in an excel file to determine how much you can profit from it. The truth shall prevail!

Shadowmight Ring requires 1 Eternal Earth and 1 Eternal Shadow. The latter is quite cheap, so your profit is really determined a lot by the price of Eternal Earth.

In the excel file, the only #s you need to replace are the ones in yellow highlights. See if you are able to profit from Shadowmight Ring.

In my experience, it’s not worth the hassle buying the mats and making Shadowmight Ring as Eternal Earth in my server can get really expensive. In the example in the excel file, imagine investing 280 gold to gain 30 gold. Come on, right? Besides,  disenchanting lvl 70 rings/necklace is less costly and brings more profit even if you buy the green gems. With the same amount you invested in Shadowmight Ring, you’ll get a lot more in return with crafting and disenchanting the lvl 70 rings/necklace.

DISENCHANT THIS!

1. Bloodstone Band
2. Crystal Chalcedony Amulet
3. Crystal Citrine Necklace
4. Sun Rock Ring

Exactly I do not know why some people still craft Shadowmight Ring for disenchanting. Maybe Bloodstone, Huge Citrine, Sun Crystal and Chalcedony costs a fortune on their server. If that is the case, then I recommend prospecting saronite ore instead to get the green gems. But then you also have to sell the rare gems or cut gems. That’s another story I shall talk about someday.

PostHeaderIcon Jewelcrafting recipes – worth getting all of them?

Jewelcrafting has got to be one of the most torturous ways of obtaining recipes. If my count is correct, I counted around 141 Jewelcrafting vendor recipes in Wowhead’s database. Is it really worth getting all of them?

PostHeaderIcon Use your professions’ cooldowns!

Using your professions’ cooldowns may be common sense. But common sense isn’t so common in this day and age of laziness and idiocy. I see a lot of people in /trade selling their professions’ cooldowns very cheap. And some of these people complain about their lack of gold supply.  Oh I wonder why…
