PostHeaderIcon Buy low, sell what?

By Luster

We’ve all heard it before: BUY LOW AND SELL HIGH. I always read that in the trade channel. Easier said than done, right? But exactly how and when do you buy LOW and do you just sell the same thing all over again when prices are high?

How low should “LOW” be?

With the help of Auctioneer and regular market scans, whenever you search in the auction house, a percentage is displayed on the right side of the item. A 100% yellow means that is let’s say, the normal price on your server. However,  A green colored percentage number means the item is under priced. If you are lucky to see a blue colored number, buy it right away, for whoever posted that probably posted accidentally with a very low buyout price! A picture below serves as an example:

In my server, frostweave cloth sells normally at around 8g a stack. In this search, 4g a stack is a great bargain. Buy it now! Yes, I bought these buggers out of the auction house!

Sell What?

Think of buy and sell this way: Sugar is cheap but sells really really quickly. Thus, it sells in large amounts cuz everyone loooves sugar! Now, compare it to a designer  cake shop, whose pastries are expensive, but doesn’t sell as quickly because some men do not agree to holding a girly cupcake with their pumped up arms. Nevertheless, someone buys the cupcakes!

Going back to the World of Warcraft example, I bought these frostweave cloth, because I needed it to make Deathchill cloak. In the end, someone is going to buy the Deathchill cloak that costs around 650 gold in my server, which only cost me around 150g when I buy mats at the discount price.

Bottom line?

Things crafted with a profession will sell more, but not as fast as the raw materials. Nevertheless, someone will buy it! If you are looking for a quick profit, sell it raw. If you want to get more gold from it, sell it cooked!
