Abyssal Shatter

Abyssal Shatter allows an enchanter to disenchant an abyss crystal into random amounts of infinite dust or greater cosmic essences. Can abyss be bought then shattered for profit? It’s highly possible. Quoting Bateleur’s computation on Wowhead:
“I received a total of;
287 Infinite dust
209 Greater cosmic essence
Of 106 shatters, i received dust 31 times. This means that you will get Infinite dust 32.86% of the time you shatter an Abyss crystal.
And of course, you will get Greater cosmic essence the rest of the time. (67.14% of the time)
This means, from an Abyssal shatter you will average get;
9.25 Infinite dust
OR
2.78 Greater cosmic essence”
The lowest number of infinite dust he got was 7, the highest 17. Lowest number of essences he got was 2, highest was 6. With the current wowhead price of abyss crystal (80g), infinite dust(4g), and greater cosmic essence(25g), you’ll generate most of your profit from getting lucky with greater cosmic essences. I see profits from shattering will depend on how lucky you can get with “procs”. However, you can also use these dusts and essences to sell enchant scrolls to boost profit. For example, Scroll of Enchant Gloves – Exceptional Spellpower will sell for around 50g. Higher level enchants sell for 100-200g. Don’t forget to buyout cheap abyss crystals. I’ve seen them go for 30-50g each. Also, be reminded that everything depends on your server’s prices.
I’m expecting infinite dust and greater cosmic essence to eventually lower in price or abyss crystals to be more expensive. I’m not going to be surprised as well if people will be farming TOC normal for abyss crystals to shatter. Will infinite dust price and cosmic essence come back to normal? Depends, really.
Abyssal Shatter has no CD, meaning people will be looking for chanters to shatter their abyss. I have no idea how much each shatter will go for 
. It’ll probably make a good supplementary income for enchanters.
As of Sept. 30, it’s only live on EU servers. US servers still need a reboot to implement the hotfix. But it will come!
